During a breast lift, a plastic surgeon removes excess skin and reshapes breast tissue to elevate the breasts. A breast lift is also known as a mastopexy. If you have sagging breasts or if your nipples point downward, you may choose to have a breast lift.
A breast lift can also improve your self-esteem and self-confidence. A breast lift will not change the size of the breasts. However, it can be performed with an increase or reduction in the volume of the breasts. A breast lift can reduce sagging and raise the position of the nipples.

Frequently asked questions
In the simplest terms, a breast augmentation is a change in the volume of the breasts. This is achieved with either a prosthesis (implants) or fat grafting (suctioning fat from other areas of the body, like love handles, and relocating it to the breasts).
The cost of a breast augmentation depends on the type of implant you choose and whether there is any manipulation of the areola. On the day of your surgery, you can expect to be at the surgery center for around 3 hours. The procedure takes approximately 1 1/2 half hours and the remaining time will be spent administering anesthesia and preparing you to go home.
After a breast augmentation, your breasts will be elevated (you may have heard people refer to this as “riding high”) for approximately 3 months after the surgery. Around the 3 month mark, the implants will “drop” and settle into place.

Numbness in the nipples, areola, and breast skin can last for about six weeks.

Surgery can also lift the darker areas around the nipples (areolas).
The size of the areolas can be reduced to keep them in proportion with the newly reshaped breasts.
After a breast lift, your breasts will likely be covered with gauze and a surgical bra.
Small tubes may be placed at the incision sites in your breasts to remove any excess blood or fluid.
For about two weeks, your breasts will be swollen and bruised. You may feel pain and discomfort around the incisions, which will be red or pink in color for a few months.
